It's been a while since I posted anything here. This first image was of a younger man, but I decided to age him a bit. The only erasing was on his mouth, it ended up being too feminine, so I had to erase and fix it. Totally, maybe about 15/20 minutes. I have so many generic characters with short hair. next one will have longer hair.
This is a quite generic character. A general old guy. Early 40s maybe?
My second image here is of Jason's character for the Rogues Gallery [Previously know as Generic City]. He's a telepath and a speedster.
Truthfully, I don't know what happened for him to be running like he is. He's either escaping from something or Tesla [Allison] was hurt. I don't know. This was going to be some one generic too, but I've been mulling over the idea of him being a speedster too, and so it's happened.
More work. An additional 40minutes of work from the previous image.
Her skin is too orange now. I need to get it more brown
Some sort of progress. Her face is starting to look old, a lot older than I wanted her to look. We'll just have to see if/how I can fix it
This isn't anyone in particular, just a face I started sketching while watching Family Guy. I decided to make her black because I keep making generic characters white that some of 'em need to be black. I don't know what I'll be doing with her hair, maybe I'll make it rave tastic and some crazy color, I'm thinking a black to reddish color.Current Progress:-Sketch-Skin paintingNeeded:-More skin, darker in general, than lay in highlights and shadows.-Features: eye, nose, neck, lips, ear-Hair-Shirt-background filler colorTime:Sketch: ~ 10 min, ~10 min clean upPainting: ~ 45 min, ~3 layers of paint. Tan, darker tan, browish color
The bloody one is somewhat inspired by Ed Norton from Fight Club, the scene when he's at the conference and his mouth is all bloodied up. And also by a character being affected by Extremis from the Extremis arc in Iron Man, drawn by Adi Granov.
Nothing special about the other one. I don't care much for it, but here it stands as something I drew. It's so easy to delete the ones I don't like, whereas traditionally I can't or won't get rid of something, not matter how little I like it.
An easier way than having half a thousand bookmarks so I can keep with with other people's sketchbooks from CA. DeathChalupaAsh888t i m saintfuseMine
Everything here is from a few weeks..or months ago. I can't remember, it's a case by case thing. Hell, one of them is from late 2007...
Some stuff from Little Shop of Horrors. Everything is based off of the 1987 musical starring Rick Moranis and Seymour, Ellen Greene and Audrey and Audrey II voiced by Levi Stubbs. I drew Seymour a few times, I realy like the fully shaded one. It has been inked and is now waiting to be colored on the computer at some point. I also drew the sadistic dentist, played by Steve Martin. I love his song.
To draw Audrey II I had to pause the movie periodically. I like the one on the bottom left, that was drawn based off of 'Feed Me' if I remember right. One of my favorite songs.
These were some free doodles. I was curious about drawing somebody getting dressed and fixing their tie. And I wanted to draw some suspenders. Funny thing is now I have I.D. [not posted yet] from Generic City who wears a tie, and I can put suspenders on as desired. I really do like how the the largest one came out, where he's taking off his jacket and undoing his tie. I think I'll try drawing that one again at some point, it was fun. No reference was used.
This guy was a doodle. I decided to try my hand at drawing an emotion, and I rarely draw frustration. Then I decided to make fun of why he was frustrated. Can't decide which color to dye his hair next. There's nothing too special about this one. I do like his facial expression, but this is something I probably could have worked on longer, and it's also something if I'm so pressed to do it again.
This girl is the Banker. I was planning on drawing a comic for my school paper based on Anton Chekovs 'The Bet', but I then ran into a bit of an art slump and was unable to draw or finish concepting what was necessary for the comic. I did like how this sketch came out, so I inked her head shot with the intention of coloring it, but by the time I inked it a while back , my computer was dead and I didn't feel like coloring on a school computer.
To continue with my love fest from my other journal, here is an example of what I have done.On the left is Movie Tony, post escape. I always like how Doweney walk, so self assures and with a sexy little swagger, and I tried to convey that here. I don't think it's as successful here as it is in the first drawing i'd done a few weeks ago on a steno pad I had lying around. The darker pink was to kind of give this a more complete look, and to make it a bit neater, even though it is still messy as hell.On the right you will see what is the beginning of my helmet and Shellhead suit. I think I'm going to streamline the ear thing, make it a bit less jagged, but I'll find a way to work with it.I went with a more hexagonal shape for the energy heat core...thing. And I like how the shoulder piece came out, a circular guard. More to be added to this design in the future.
This is my first post here, even though I've had this for a while. Hmm, Mostly doodles will go here, and some tests of things. Most anything I draw on my tablet I guess I can stick here. I mean, I draw all the time, so having things to post up here will be a breeze.Art programs in use are Art Rage 2.5 Starter Ed, and MS Paint. When I go back down to ODU I'll purchase Photoshop CS3 and I'll work with that.
The first image was a random gift art for a girl on DeviantArt of her character Bugan. Jinsonlygurl. I liked her character design and drew that for her. I plan on drawing something better at some point. This took about 15 min, sketch and a rough 'inking'

The next piece is seriously a scribble of a piece. I was practicing with my tablet while watching TV last night and pretty much put on...paper?...what came to mind. The big pale face in the middle back was supposed to be Alan Tyduk, but that ended in failure, so I added some other stuff. The only things here that even remotely look like anything are labeled. One is Solomon, the son of a corporate mogul of mine. The redhead in the middle somewhat resembles a character of mine, but still not quite right.
I was practicing with the painting aspect of Art Rage when I drew this red head by the sea. I was trying to get her hair to look more realistic. I understand there are better ways I could go about painting, but it was originally going to be her face, but The hair took over, then the background, which should have been painted first was done last, then I gave up on it. Future paintings will have more pre-planning involved.
This last piece is a drawing I started in MS Paint. I sketched it out then decided to color it, then I got bored. I might finish it one day. Not much, but the dress and shading for it, and fixing her other pony tail so it looks more like a darker shade of orange than it currently does.
